Reducer fitting mould FAQs

Go4moulds is the premium supplier of injection moulds and associated services in China. We are unmatched in all our supreme expertise. We offer a extensive range of services to aid your injection molding machine’s life cycle. One such service we provide regarding our customer’s machines is Reducer Fitting Moulds, which are essential for optimal Ergonomics of your machine. To give you an idea of what this entails, Go4mould has compiled a list of FAQs to help you understand the basics of our Reducer Fitting Moulds.

1. What is a reducer fitting mould?

A reducer fitting mould is a kind of push-fit connector that increases the inner diameter of a pipeline and reduces its outer diameter to another dimension for an effective connection. A PVC reducer can be used in waste and vent lines and moving carrying gas (exhaust).

2. Why do we need reducer fitting mould?

A reducer fitting helps you to connect a smaller diameter pipe or tube coming from the wastewater to a medium or large size. It is generally used as a connector between two different sizes of pipes or tubes.

3. What are the materials reducer fitting moulds are made from?

Reducing fitting moulds have been conventionally made from mild steel, but, in recent times, they have been made from high-quality plastic. The plastic material includes Nylon, PVC, and PP.

4. What are the types of reducer fitting mould offered by Go4mould?

The types of fitting reducers offered by Go4mould are:

a.) Reducer elbow fitting mould:

The reducing fitting elbow mould is used to connect PVC pipes of different diameters. The elbow can be rotated in different directions.

c.) Reducer cross pipe fitting Mould:

A reducing cross pipe fitting mould can be used to join two or three PVC pipes in such a way that they intersect at 90 degrees. The cross pipe fitting mould is made from high impact PP material and has G3 thread. It works well with Polyethylene (PE) Pipes of different sizes.

5. What are the sizes available in reducer fitting mould at Go4mould?

The size available for Reducer Fitting Mould is 20mm, 40mm, 110mm, 220mm. G04 Mould provides custom made reducer fitting moulds as per your requirement.

6. Discuss the applications of reduce fitting mould?

Reducer fitting moulds are widely used in the following applications:

i. Industrial wastewater treatment plants:

It can be used to connect the wastewater lines for effective wastewater management.

ii. Sewer pipeline for water supply:

Reducer fitting moulds are used to join polyethylene pipes of different sizes in sewer pipelines which are used to supply potable water.

iii. Gas pipe fitting lines:

Gas pipe fitting lines use reducer fitting moulds to join different size pipes.

iv. Sewerage treatment plants:

It is used in the wastewater treatment process to connect plastic or steel pipelines of different diameters.

v. Water distribution system:

It aids in the efficient planning and designing of water distribution system for effective pressure management.

vi. Chemical industries:

Processing chemicals at high pressure requires the use of PVC pipes. Reducer fittings are used to join these pipes in chemical processing units.

vii. Residential and commercial units:

Reducing fitting moulds can be used to connect different size underground or above-ground pipelines for effective plumbing work.

viii. Hotels, Hospitals, Office buildings, Apartments:

The installation of plumbing lines at places catering to many users needs the use of PVC reducer fitting moulds. They are also used in commercial units that need several pipes connected.

7. Discuss the injection moulding process of reducer fitting mould?

A reducer fitting mould is made by injection molding process. Follow the below steps.

i. First of all, the basic designing phase for the fitting is done. The design generally has two parts, the body and the threaded section. The male part or the top part is called ‘sprue’ while the female or bottom part is referred to as ‘gate’.

ii. After designing is done, the basic ‘tool’ is made. This tool is used as a master for injection molding of parts. It has all the details required to make a complete part ready for use.

iii. The core pin and cavity, which form parts of this tool, are prepared after a thorough study of the process conditions and properties of materials used. The core pin is the male part which forms the lock between two consecutive parts. After that cooling channels are cut in the mold.

iv. Then, cores are prepared for specific parts of the tool to be used when injection takes place. These include ejector pins and slides etc. A sprue former is also attached to form a passage for molten material to reach the cavity.

v. The next step involves setting up all components, including the machine’s set-up, clamps, etc. The mold is prepared with the injection unit and molten material inserted in the cavity to eject plastic part after cooling down.

vi. After this, units are disassembled to release parts for quality check. There are slight variations in the checking procedure at different stages of production.

8. Do Go4mould provide technical consultancy service?

Yes, G4 mould offers technical consultancy services to help customers make the right choice. We provide free CAD design for reducer fitting moulds and also offer molding services.
