Give a brief description of the fog lamp mould
Fog lamp parts require high heat resistance, so reflector bowls are normally made of PEI, mold temperatures are high, and cavity material selection and machining parameters affect the pattern of reflection. There is a great deal of importance placed on the gate location when it comes to fog lamp housings, which are usually made from highly heat-resistant PBT+30GF.

Best features of fog lamp mould
With strong light penetrating power, automotive fog lamps can provide a clear view of your vehicle’s position under low visibility. Currently, gas bulb sources, LED sources, and future laser sources are the main sources of light.
Due to the high light power and the temperature classification of parts, fog lamp reflector bowls are usually made from PEI, and LED light sources are usually made from aluminum alloy die-casting that enhances heat dissipation.
The different parts of a fog lamp mould
- Fog lamp lens
Fog lamp lenses usually require mirrored polishing, large drops, and side gate injection. Air trapping can be avoided by optimizing wall thickness. An example of a five-axis machining side lacing pattern. Customers must approve all product date locations and ejection lines.
- Fog lamp bezel
Mold for front fog lamp bezels with complex parting surfaces, large drop of products, and spreader plate. A slider core pulls around the mold and a cooling system with a heat-resistant seal ring is used to cool the part. Ensure high machining precision, no flashing is allowed, as this will affect the appearance of the aluminum plating and the product.
- Fog lamp housing
The fog lamp housing mold has a complex parting surface, a large drop of product, and is usually equipped with a hot runner and spreader plate. Formulating a corresponding strategy before making a mold is necessary since glass fiber orientation affects gas tightness. It is important to design the core-pulling mechanism of the inclined dimming axis hole since the mold structure is complex.
Maintaining mould properly and to the best of your ability
It is necessary to maintain the mold during continuous use because of problems such as wear of parts, deterioration of lubricant, and water leakage. There are two types of mold maintenance: daily maintenance and lower mold maintenance. Daily maintenance includes the following elements:
- Removal of rust on a regular basis (appearance, PL surface, cavity, core, etc.)
- Re-lubricate periodically (ejection mechanism, row position, etc.).
- It is necessary to replace wearing parts (rods, bolts, etc.) on a periodic basis.
- It is also necessary to pay attention to the maintenance of the lower mold of mold, which must be removed and tested by qualified maintenance personnel.
